I have a frame, spool and Ford long shaft starter and for this year I will Lauch for the 1st time my planes with this.

2000ft of line, and a couple new starter solenoids are en route…

Not sure yet what I will gear up for a permanent setup to power this. Right now , I’m using a set of booster cables

This is the basic setup, there will be a second solenoid, and a diode at each solenoid to cut arcing across the contact

I took the lid of one of the switches, There’s two switches attached to the moveable plate, on the flanges on either side.

The cord is not as flexible as it might of been in the 1970’s, and the plug on the end looks like something from an old phone 4 – prong

The other is an IBM switch, foot peddle, I haven’t taken that apart yet.

I’ll need a solution, for a new plug and receptacle at some point

This is the style connector I’ll use for the foot switch, it’s a little heavier then necessary however big enough to grab on too 🙂

One end will be secured to the winch frame
