The days are getting shorter as we plummet towards  the December solstice.

Last year my last day of flying was on Nov 17th.

Recently we have  had a number of mornings with frost on the ground and today was another one of those.

Winter is creeping in, both mower decks have been removed from the mower so unless I want to mow the field with the Lawnboy, mowing is done for 2014.

Now for snow,  well I’ll leave that for another day, suffice to say we have seen flurries and south of here in the foothills there have been trace amounts lying on the ground.

There have been a few  heavy frosts and last night I reckon the temperatures dipped to near zero .

The forecast was for highs near 10 degrees and light breeze, under 10 km/hr .

I haven’t been out flying since Oct 31 so today would be a good day, around noon I placed the Majestic and the Elio on charge.

The Bird of Time, is usually raring to go as it has a LiFe battery and that seems to hold a charge forever.

I headed out at 2 P.M , the temperature had already skyrocketed to 15 Deg C, rather toasty for this time of year . The wind was out of the north west, so I stretched the winch line out in that general direction.

One last look at the sky and feel for the breeze and I thought it would be a great time to launch the BoT.

Up the line it went, 10 minutes later I was still up there.

Circling , zagging , zigging, back and forth over a line of spruce, at the crest of a small incline. That’s where I thought I was anyways  LOL

When I got back on the ground I had been flying for 13 minutes.

Somehow though the white full high level clouds had disappeared and there was nothing but blue sky. The wind had also changed to the west maybe slightly to the south west

Seems like  just another circle as we move towards winter once again
