straight from the box, well done
the super ava pro boon is significantly longer
pods both the same, and even the wrapping is done the same
stabs are the same
hardware packages
center panels are different, so are the spoiler sizes
boom aft the tripod mount is loose, so needs some tow wrapped to build up
lock for fin, add the tripod mount for the stab first
I found I needed to notch the hex fin adapter a bit to get the fin retainer down flat
it will go here, some glue later and a wrap or two of thread included in the hardware package
slot needed for rudder pushrod housing, not shown is the hi speed tool used to freehand the slot, some filing needed to clean up
I chose to exit here with the tube above the fin retainer clip, rather then curve down and pick up the rudder horn if it is placed in the lower slot
marked and cut the pushrod tube exit slot for the stab
it will get cleaned up as well and fine tuned at the entry and exit ends for a smooth transition
at this time I like to secure one end of the tube before I remove the pushrod and add wire to use the magnets for gluing the tube into the boom
used the round file to stretch the hole at the back edge
tube end set with some 24 hr epoxy
at this point it’s critical to set the vertical vertical, the horizontal, well horizontal, and I’m not using a plastic school house protractor:)
I had earlier lathered some 24 Hr epoxy onto the stab mount, as well as the boom, taped the boom of to prevent a mess
square on either side of the fin, with tape shims equi spaced and equal thickness
blocks of the deck, checked the deck earlier, this should get the stab parallel to the same surface that the fin is perpendicular to
the next morning I was able to secure the fine retainer clip
lookin pretty
and from the nose end, take care and mark the nose end on the mount as well, it would be easy to put it on facing the wrong direction
I had previousely inserted a steel rod into the pushrod tube, and these magnets help me align the tube, and the exit is taped in location . If you look close there’s also a wax paper covered spacer at the entrance to the tube to allow for clearance of the tenon on the back end of the pod as it needs to slip into the boom
epoxy, some use CA, not a fan this epoxy should run down the full length of the boom tube interface. Previousely wiped the inside of the boom with alcohol
How much, this much, a bit of a guess as usual, standing the boom up, one can shine a light in from the bottom and clearly see the glue run down, later lay the boom on the side for cure
servo tray and servos, need clearance for battery, and receiver aft
Marked deck for servos
servo with arms
1/8 ply backing
open wide
