Here I’ve added some pictures<\/a> of the Aquila Grande I built this past spring. From looking through my Flight Log, I see I tossed it to the Sky on April 21.<\/p>\n

On May 3rd I had it packed and it was on it’s way to Tucson, Arizona have a look here for some added info<\/p>\n

RTF weight 1.5 KG 53 oz<\/p>\n

The new Owner Tom PM’d me later and added this<\/p>\n

Finally took the AQ out today. First flight was down wind and the CG was too far back. Added nose weight and second flight off my high start resulted in a 45 minute ride. You did a fabulous job building this model. The airframe is true and the wings are light. Next ride was over 20 minutes off of a winch and mono line. Came down for water. It was 101F.\u00a0 Your AQ has a good home. Best regards, Tom<\/em><\/p>\n

Underside, I added some contrasting colors, I was asked If I used the ends from various colors, but no, just wanted some contrast<\/p>\n

Under the hood, the drive train and engines so to speak. Typical RES setup for these “old school” Sailplanes. Three servos, and dial chord actuated spoilers..<\/p>\n

More modern ships will see the spoiler servos in the wings, as they are a lot lighter then the standard servos. I\u00a0 like\u00a0 this spoiler setup, and have overcome the problem others have with equal actuation of both spoilers with a cam on one post on the servo.<\/p>\n

If you look closely, I’ve taken a servo eyelet, brass sleeve and soldered on a little piece of brass that then gives the eyelet a oblong, cam shape..<\/p>\n

By rotating this prior to tightening it to the servo arm you can take up the slack in one of the dial cords.<\/p>\n
