Up at the crack of dawn, well around 5:45, there had been a sprinkle of rain earlier but the clouds where higher and the Windguru was offering up a nice day. After tending to breakfast duties and other ongoing work, including an Hour of mowing I got the winch out.<\/p>\n

There was not much of a breeze to speak of but it looked safe to launch in a southerly direction.<\/p>\n

no breeze , not a lot of expectations.<\/p>\n

By 8 A.M I had got in three launches, flights of 8, 5 and 6 minutes. Not a lot , however I could tell things were warming up and this would only get better.<\/p>\n

It really is amazing the difference in the amount of lift at 7 in the morning versus 7 in the evening.<\/p>\n

Later at around 10 I got in a couple more flights.. The word out of Halifax was that they had early morning rain, but the skies where now blue.<\/p>\n

I hope the hill blocks the rain and we get that clearing sky.<\/p>\n

My next opportunity was after 11, they sky was still grey, but it had warmed up to 22 Deg C<\/p>\n

there was lots of blue sky to the north but it hadn’t reached us yet<\/p>\n

I got one launch in and a ride of over 30 minutes, the best yet with the Supra..<\/p>\n

Flying rudder only, effortless like an Eagle.<\/p>\n

Later , I got another chance, I had to change to the other end of the field , a breeze has come up,
\nand then it dies off..<\/p>\n

Predominantly from the north though..<\/p>\n

So, on my 1st launch\u00a0 I was giving\u00a0 up and landing after 5 minutes, I
\nwatched an eagle get out from 100 feet, a little no the North East, over the interval<\/p>\n

and was soon up there while drifting south.<\/p>\n

Huuuuuh, I can do that, I saw where he started, he won’t fool me..<\/p>\n

So, after he was south behind the tree line I launched, and immediatly
\nwent over there.<\/p>\n

Aaaah, sink sink sink, oh no, I mean I was down to 100 ft or so, and
\nit was time to bail back to the field.:):)<\/p>\n

As I come in over the field,
\nless then a minute of the line, I found lift.. I circled , maybe 10 to 12 circles and I was out..<\/p>\n

Good save and a nice 8 minute ride after..<\/p>\n

That’s soaring..<\/p>\n

Now with an electric motor , who cares, If you sink somewhere other
\nthe your landing area..<\/p>\n

Just power up and move on out..<\/p>\n

of course, a winch in the nose is really convenient<\/p>\n

E Z<\/p>\n

As I write this, the Supra and my winch and line are out in the field and I can hear Thunder rumbling in the distance.<\/p>\n

Skies are looking rather dark, and the light breeze has turned again and is out of the south.<\/p>\n
