1/4 x 1/2    1/4 x 1/4 , some 1/16 x 1/4? for the ribs and a bit of thin ply where the horn fits.

In my view the old rudder was much to thin at the rear and the inherent quality of the wood over came the strength and the LE started to twist.

This one will not be as thin as one gets back to the trailing edge.   Of course the covering also doesn’t help with fragile structures
